How to created a basic HDR effect
HDR is an effect that you can add to pretty much any image to make the colors and contrast really pop, almost as if the picture was taken in a dream. It really looks great for old cars, chrome, and bright colors. There are many different methods, some which are a little more complicated then others. But here is a method with Photoshop to slightly mimic the HDR effect. Open an image in photoshop. Click on Image > Adjustment > Shadow/Highlights.
From the menu, apply the following settings:
Shadow Amount: 50%
Tonal Width: 45%
Radius: 44px
Highlight Amount: 65%
Tonal Width: 65%
Radius: 46px
Afterwards, go back to Images > Adjustment > Brightness/Contrast.
Adjust these settings to your likings. Here are some examples.
